Standard Ion Exchange Water Softener

How an Ion Exchange Water Softener Works:
Water from your well or community enters your water softener tank and flows through a resin bed. The resin (ions) attracts calcium and magnesium and holds onto it while the rest of the water flows through your house distribution system (pipes). Once the resin bed is fully loaded with calcium and magnesium, it needs to have it removed and flushed down the drain so the resin can continue to attract and trap more calcium and magnesium.

Salt water brine is stored in the brine tank until it is needed to regenerate the resin. The control valve is set to flush the brine through the resin tank (usually during the night while water is not needed), washing away the calcium and magnesium. Then pure water is washed through the resin tank to wash away the salt brine. Now the resin is once again ready to catch the calcium and magnesium, removing the hardness from the water so it does not settle in your pipes, your dishwasher or washing machine, clog your coffee maker, or leave spots and stains on your sinks, toilets, showers, and dishes.

Twin Tank Ion Exchange Water Softener

Twin tanks provide continuous soft water. While one tank is regenerating, the other tank is in use. If you want soft water with no interuption for regeneration, this system is for you.

Plus SAVE UP TO 15% in both water and salt. Unlike preset systems, the twin-tank system regenerates with soft water only when necessary. Plus it uses 100% of the tank in service. The end result? Fifteen percent savings in both water and salt.**

** Compared to a system with meter delayed regeneration and the reserve set at 30% of the system capacity, provided that half of the reserve capacity is unused.

Iron Filters

Rust – Rotten Egg Smell – Black Staining

These problems are easily solved with an iron filter installed along with your regular water softener. An iron filter traps iron and/or other particles which are not attracted to the resin in a softener. Once an iron filter is getting full, the filter is flushed, washing the iron down the drain, leaving it ready to work again.

Have your water tested for free to make sure you get the right filtration material and filter size for your house needs.

Cartridge Filters

There may be many other particulates in your water that a standard water softener will not filter out. Some water systems pick up sediment (debris from city water pipes or solids from the ground) which need a sediment filter prior to the water softener to keep the water softener from clogging and provide clear water.

Other filters can help remove the chlorine taste and smell from city water. Specialized filters can even help remove microbial cysts such as cryptosporidium and giardia.

What is Hard Water?

Water is a natural solvent. As water flows through the earth, it picks up minerals.

The most common types of minerals found in groundwater are Calcium and Magnesium. The Calcium and Magnesium build-up will make cleaning more difficult and reduce the lifespan of household appliances. 1/8 inch of scale in a water heater requires 20 % more energy to operate.

US Bureau of Standards

A quality ion exchange water softener can remove the calcium and magnesium to make cleaning a breeze.

Is My Water Safe?

Along with picking up common minerals from the ground, other items that can contaminate your water are:

  • Air Pollution
  • Chemicals
  • Detergents
  • Animal Waste
  • Fertilizers
  • Pesticides
  • Herbicides
  • Waste Water
  • Bacteria
  • Sulfur from Smokestacks
  • Lead from Pipe Solder
  • Other Minerals (Limestone, Arsenic)

Reverse Osmosis and Ultra Filtration Systems both help remove harmful contaminants from your water.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) Systems

If you are looking for a more pure water source, Our RO system is for you.

Healthier Water for Drinking, Cooking, and Kitchen Use

The pressure from a household tap forces water through a semipermeable Membrane. This Membrane separates the everyday household water at the molecular level. The Membrane acts like a filter to isolate impurities,* reducing them so that the water becomes purer, Reverse Osmosis water, with substantially reduced dissolved solids and impurities*. This cleaner, more refined water is then stored in a holding tank, ready at your convenience.

Why Buy Expensive Bottled Water with unknown quality or origin when you can make your own Purified Water with your own
RO Filtration System?

Ultra Filtration Systems

Ultrafiltration Technology uses a membrane with openings as small as 0.02 microns. The membrane stops a greater percentage of particles, turbidity, and pathogens such as bacteria and viruses, many which are extremely difficult to remove with other methods.

Cutting Edge Technology

Ultrafiltration systems are for those who wish to treat their whole house system or office. Ultrafiltration leaves good minerals in the water and does not require high pressure pumps to operate.

Ultrafiltration systems are compact and easy to install, operate, and maintain. While some filtration systems require much additional water to be used in order to filter the water, with an ultrafiltration system you get to use all the water that is filtered.
